Police Log: Passed Out Driver Leads to OUI Arrest

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Oct. 7

12:25 a.m. – Police responded to a report of several pot holes made by the rain on Hayward Road.

5:28 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a red car in the middle of Central Street, which took off and headed up toward West Square when officers arrived. After a short pursuit, Sierra Dawn Young, 24, of 49 Spencer Road, Apt. H32, Boxborough, was arrested and charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating under the influence of drugs, operating under the influence of liquor and failure to stop for police.

7:44 a.m. – A burglar alarm activated on Great Road. The responding officer reported spinning decorations hanging from the ceiling inside the building likely set off the sensors.

12:37 p.m. – Police responded to a report of an erratic operator in a black sedan on Great Road.

2:18 p.m. – Police responded to a report of two trash barrels in the eastbound lane on Great Road.

4:56 p.m. – Officers assisted with a reported motor vehicle lockout on Parker Street.

6:05 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a child locked in a car on Central Street.

9:13 p.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Old Village Road.

9:24 p.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Railroad Street. The responding officer reported finding nothing in the area, and speaking with a man walking his dog who reported hearing nothing.

Tuesday, Oct. 8

6:09 a.m. – A call came in reporting a motor vehicle accident on Massachusetts Avenue.

7:37 a.m. – Police responded to School Street for a report of commuters parking in the playground-only parking spaces.

9:23 a.m. – A report of a water main break came in from Charter Road.

10:27 a.m. – A report of a past hit-and-run accident came in from Mass Ave.

3:14 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a fraudulent check on Brook Street.

3:39 p.m. – An anonymous call came in reporting rocks in the roadway were creating a hazard on Newtown Road. The responding officer reported there was some stonedust in front of Lincoln Drive, which had been dropped by a landscaping vehicle.

6 p.m. – A report of an illegally parked vehicle came in from Mass Ave.

8:45 p.m. – An abandoned 911 call came in from Mass Ave. It was confirmed as accidental.

10:06 p.m. – Police responded to a reported disabled motor vehicle on Eastern Road. The responding officer confirmed the motorist was on their way.

11:58 p.m. – A Main Street resident called to report an unwanted female visitor. The woman, left, according to the log entry.
