Police Log: Reports of Dogs Barking, People Singing and Gunshots

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Oct. 19

12:08 a.m. – An officer responded to Charter Road, where a group of kids had gathered. A driver there was waiting for someone, and they left on their way.

4:39 a.m. – Police responded to a noise complaint about people singing loudly all night on Pine Cone Strand. The people singing had gone inside, and the noise stopped, according to the log entry.

12:14 p.m. – A woman called to report workers at the transfer station on Route 2 would not allow her to express her political ideas by carrying signs.

2:28 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a vehicle all over the roadway on Great Road, before pulling into McDonald's. The responding officer reported the vehicle was gone on arrival.

5:24 p.m. – Police responded to a report of gun shots in the area of Summer Street. The responding officer checked the area and reported nothing found.

8:14 p.m. – A walk-in dropped off a Middlesex Savings Bank check card found on Great Road.

9:04 p.m. – An officer spoke with a group of kids loitering in the senior lot on Charter Road; they were asked to move along.

11:17 p.m. – Police responded to a reported disturbance on Avalon Drive, where kids were reportedly screaming and banging on the floor. The responding officer spoke with the kids' parents, who said they would quiet down for the night.

Sunday, Oct. 20

9:54 a.m. – A report of smoldering mulch came in from Davis Road.

9:59 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a disabled motor vehicle on Central Street. The car ran out of gas and its owner went to get some.

4:21 p.m. – A black wallet was turned in to the police department.

6:59 p.m. – A caller reported rocks were getting thrown at her car on Sudbury Road. The responding officer checked the area and reported it could have been acorns falling.

9:44 p.m. – Police responded to a report of evicted tenants have been trespassing on Main Street.

9:56 p.m. – A Willow Street resident called to complain about a dog barking for the past hour.
