Police Log: Suspicious Activity, Snow Problems and Accidents

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Dec. 16

10:13 a.m. – Police responded to an alarm activation on Windsor Avenue. There were no problems found.

1:55 p.m. – Police responded to a reported past breaking-and-entering on Powdermill Road.

3:28 p.m. – A 911 call came in from Discovery Way. It was confirmed as accidental.

4:04 p.m. – Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Main Street.

6:10 p.m. – Police responded to an alarm activation on Patriots Road. It was confirmed as accidental by the homeowner.

Tuesday, Dec. 17

10:05 a.m. – Police responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Ledge Rock Way, where one of the vehicles reportedly rolled over onto its side. Two patients were transported to Lahey Clinic.

2:15 p.m. – A black Coach wallet found in a cart as Stop & Shop was turned into the station.

3:05 p.m. – Police responded to a reported larceny/fraud on Winter Street.

4:48 p.m. – A deer was reportedly stuck by a car on Birch Ridge Road.

7:06 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle blocking plowing operations on Jay Lane. The vehicle’s owner was spoken to and agreed to move the car.

9:47 p.m. – Police responded to a report of parked cars hindering snow plowing on Baxter Road. The vehicle’s owner was told to move the car, and to call Town Hall about “his problem with the Highway Department.”

Wednesday, Dec. 18

3:25 a.m. – Police responded to an alarm activation on Great Road, which was confirmed as accidental by an employee.

10:10 a.m. – Emergency responders were called to Ledge Rock Way for a reported motor vehicle rollover. Two patients were transported to area hospitals.

10:34 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a truck in a snowbank on Main Street.

1:54 p.m. – An anonymous caller reported two vehicles parked at the end of Sandy Drive were blocking the view of oncoming traffic on School Street.

2:18 p.m. – Police responded to a report of larceny on Nonset Path.

5:49 p.m. – A caller reported his vehicle struck and killed a deer on Newtown Road.

6:59 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a disabled motor vehicle on Mass Ave. The vehicle was reportedly out of gas and moved into a nearby bank parking lot while the driver went to fetch some gas.

8:23 p.m. – Police responded to a report of annoying phone calls on Willow Street.

Thursday, Dec. 19

6:35 a.m. – The Highway Department called to report a Willow Street resident used a snowblower to put snow in the roadway.

8:12 a.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Minuteman Road.

9:53 a.m. – Officers assisted with a minor motor vehicle accident on Harris Street.

1:39 p.m. – Littleton Police transferred a call reporting an erratic operator in the area of Great Road. The caller claimed she had gotten into an argument with the driver over the way he was driving in Groton, and then she followed all the way to Acton.

6:05 p.m. – Police responded to a parking complaint about a vehicle with New Hampshire plates blocking traffic periodically on Discovery Way.

8:42 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a suspicious man walking around a parking lot on Central Street. The responding officer reported the man had missed his stop and was waiting for his son to pick him up.
