Police Log: Suspicious Vehicles, Hit-and-Runs and Alleged Larcenies
The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Friday, Jan. 17
5:31 a.m. – Police responded to an interior motion alarm on Great Road. The premises checked secure.
11:04 a.m. – Police responded to a report of two abandoned vehicles on Brook Street. The property owners were contacted to remove them.

11:32 a.m. – A larceny report came in from Great Road.
2:50 p.m. – A man called to report he was almost struck by a vehicle on Charter Road, and that the driver got out of the vehicle and was yelling at the man.

3:27 p.m. – A man came into the station to turn in a women’s purse, stating he found it deep in the woods by the commuter lot on Central Street.
3:58 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a steel plate sticking up in the roadway on Stow Street. The responding officer advised it was a water gate cover flipped up.
5:03 p.m. – An animal was reportedly struck by a motor vehicle on Stow Street.
6:18 p.m. – State Police relayed a report of a hit-and-run accident on Mass Ave.
6:21 p.m. – Police responded to a report of kids on the football field on Charter Road.
7:05 p.m. – A larceny report came in from Main Street.
10:02 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Independence Road. The responding officer reported it was a worker who’d be working on the track throughout the night.
10:41 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle operating erratically on Concord Road, speeding and driving halfway in the other lane before pulling onto Route 2 west. The responding officer reported the vehicle was gone on arrival.
