Police Log: Texting While Driving, Alleged Fraud and More

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Nov. 20

8:14 a.m. – Police responded to a reported disabled motor vehicle on Mass Ave.

10:30 a.m. – A Minot Ave resident came into the station to report an alleged fraud.

3:11 p.m. – Police responded to a complaint of a box truck in a Piper Road driveway with its tailgate extended into the roadway. The responding officer reported the vehicle was not extending into the road.

4:03 p.m. – Police responded to Central Street, where the door was open on a house that is for sale. The responding officer reported that all of the doors and windows were left open.

6 p.m. – A motorist called to report the driver of the vehicle behind her was texting while driving; however, the caller could not see the make, model, color or license plate of the vehicle. The responding officer checked the area, but the vehicle in question was gone on arrival.

10:17 p.m. – Police responded to Settlement Way to assist with a home lockout.

10:49 p.m. – Police responded to a commercial burglar alarm on Powdermill Road. The property checked secure.
