Police Log: Why Did the Chickens Cross the Road?

The following information was provided by the Acton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Dec. 6

12:42 a.m. – A woman called to complain about noise from an MBTA construction crew off Central Street. The woman was advised to contact the MBTA directly .

1:59 a.m. – Boxborough Police, on behalf of State Police, requested a check of the Mass Ave area for a man who allegedly left the scene after his vehicle was involved in an accident on Route 2. Police found the man and transferred him over to the State Police.

5:02 a.m. – Police responded to Strawberry Hill Road, where unwanted guests were refusing to leave.

6:27 a.m. – Police responded to a report of two men taking apart a UPS box on Great Road. The responding officer reported the men were subcontractors for UPS.

7:54 a.m. – A caller reported a vehicle struck and killed a dog, and then left the scene on Harris Street. The caller was unable to obtain a plate number for the car, and the responding officer was unable to locate the animal.

10:12 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a trespassing violation on Main Street.

11:34 a.m. – Police responded to a report of chickens in the roadway on Joseph Reed Lane. The responding officer was unable to locate the animals.

4:05 p.m. – Police responded to a report of shoplifting at Kmart.

6:18 p.m. – Officers were called to a domestic disturbance on Prospect Street, where a husband and wife were reportedly fighting over the return of children.

9:02 p.m. – Rebecca A. Hall, 45, of 17 A Davis Road, Apt. 4, Acton, was arrested on a warrant for failure to stoop for police, marked lanes violation and trespassing with a motor vehicle.  

9:42 p.m. – Malicious destruction of property was reported on Great Road.

10:16 p.m. – Possible gunshots were reportedly heard on Great Elm Way.
