The College Board has released its annual survey of average SAT scores for schools. Boston.com has a slideshow with the top 15 schools. There are a lot of schools you'd expect at the top of the list in Massachusetts.
Acton-Boxborough Regional High School earned the No. 3 spot on the list, with a total mean score of 1876. That's a Reading mean score of 612, Math mean score of 648 and a writing mean of 616. The total number of test takers was 464, according to the Boston.com gallery.
Topping the list? The Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science, a magnet school in Worcester, Mass. It's the Worcester version of Boston Latin, which ranked number four on the annual list. The academy had a mean score of 2042, which is about a 1400 on the old SAT scoring system that you remember from high school.
Other top-performing schools include Lexington, Concord-Carlisle, Newton South and Wellesley. Check out the full slideshow at boston.com.
