Statement From Superintendent in Wake of Conn. Shootings

The following statement from Superintendent Stephen Mills was sent to all Acton and Acton-Boxborough school families: 

Our thoughts and prayers are with the students, families and educators in Newtown, Connecticut after the fatal shootings at an elementary school there yesterday morning. Each fall we review our safety and security procedures, which are then shared with the Police and Fire Departments. In light of this recent event, each principal is revisiting the plans with faculty and staff. We will keep an eye out for students who may be experiencing difficulty and work with our faculty to help them answer student questions that might arise at school on Monday.

We have all been shaken by this terrible tragedy and may need support and help in the coming days and weeks. Below are two resources to help all of us when talking with children:
