A-B Female Athletes to be Honored Tomorrow in Boston

Christine Davis and Maya Jarostchuk will receive certificates for Massachusetts Celebration of Girls and Women in Sports Day.

Amy Latimer, TD Garden President, will be the special guest speaker at the Massachusetts Celebration of Girls and Women in Sports Day (GWS Day) on Feb. 1, at the Great Hall at Faneuil Hall in Boston.

The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to noon, is a recognition day for high school female athletes and the adults who support and inspire them. 

The morning's celebration will recognize two girls from each participating high school with certificates, including Christine Davis and Maya Jarostchuk of Acton-Boxborough.

This year’s theme is Girls in Sports: An Investment in the Future. The event is co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and the New Agenda: Northeast.

The event will also honor the three GWS Essay Award winners.
