Hannah Foley is having a spectacular sophomore campaign for the Tufts University women's basketball team.
The Acton native is the leading scorer (12.1 points per game) for the Jumbos, who are undefeated (21-0/7-0 NESCAC) and ranked No. 5 in the D3hoops.com national poll as of Jan. 28. She was NESCAC Player of the Week on Jan. 7, 2013 and is currently ninth in the NESCAC scoring race. A 5-foot-10 guard, she is fifth in the conference averaging 2.0 3-pointers per game, and her 1.5 steals per game are 12th in the league.
And now, she can claim another honor. Foley was recently selected to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, an award that recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Foley is one of eight players in the Northeast Region to earn this honor, including three from NESCAC teams.
Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
A Dean's List all for all three of her semesters at Tufts, Foley has a 3.62 grade point average as a civil engineering major.
