Colonials Boys Basketball Bounced in Opening Round

The Acton-Boxborough boys basketball team's season ended with a record of 11-10 on the year.

The Acton-Boxborough boys basketball team's season came to an end of Monday night as the locals were blown out in the opening round of the postseason.

Number nine seeded South High School came into town and snagged a 65-49 victory in the first round of the Central Division 1 bracket.

Thanks to the victory, South will take on Fitchburg, the tournament's top seed, in the quarterfinals. The winner of that game will take on either Wachusett or Franklin.

With the loss, Acton-Boxborough's season comes to a close with a record of 11-10 on the year.

The Colonials girls basketball team hosts Doherty on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a first round tilt.
