Concussions: Has Your School Released How Many Players Have Suffered?

Boston College High School led the list with 63 concussions or other head injuries. Meanwhile, ABRHS and RJ Grey Junior High reported 22 sports injuries among more than 2,800 total students.

Thanks to a Freedom of Information Act request, the Boston Globe found out how many concussions school sports players suffered during the last school year.

Concussions are much in the news lately, especially in football. Teams from Pop Warner to the NFL are wrestling with how best to protect players in an inherently violent but much-loved game.

The Globe reports that 360 high schools and middle schools across the state documented head injuries as required by state law.

According to the report, Acton-Boxborough Regional High School and RJ Grey Junior High reported 22 sports injuries among more than 2,800 total students.
