Solarize Acton Meeting – July 10 [VIDEO]

This press release was sent to Acton Patch from Chris Schaffner.

Acton, MA — and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) are pleased to announce the selection of New England Clean Energy (NECE) as the Solarize Mass installer for Acton.  NECE will work with the Solarize Acton team of community volunteers led by Chris Schaffner, the Solarize Acton Community Solar Coach, to implement the program in partnership with MassCEC.  A public meeting has been scheduled for July 10, 7:30 PM at ) to introduce the installer to the community, and answer questions from residents and business owners in Acton.

Solarize Acton is a program of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Green Communities Division and Massachusetts Clean Energy Center that encourages the adoption of small scale solar PV by deploying a coordinated education, marketing and outreach effort, combined with a below market pricing structure that provides increased savings as more people in the community go solar.

“We were very pleased to participate in the Solarize Mass pilot program last year as the installer for Harvard (MA), which put more solar on rooftops than any other town,” said New England Clean Energy President Mark Durrenberger. “ Acton is a large community with tremendous diversity. It also has very engaged citizens, and a strong commitment to being green. We look forward to working with the town to conduct a successful Solarize program”
