Monday Essentials: Christmas Week in Acton

1. School's Out: Acton's public school students broke for Christmas/Winter vacation on Friday, Dec. 20, according to the district's calendar, and they won't return to school after the New Year, on Thursday, Jan. 2.

2. Public Meetings Preview: According to the town website, there are no public meetings scheduled for this week. 

3. Christmas is Wednesday: Which means things like town offices, schools, the Postal Service, retailers, liquor stores, supermarkets and some restaurants will be closed. Plan accordingly. 

4. Wishing Woods: Drop by the Discovery Museums at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26 to help create an indoor forest built upon wishes for the New Year. Get the details here. 

5. Holiday Brunch Week: The Local Table, which ordinarily serves all-day brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, will serve its brunch--which includes breakfast favorites, specialty sandwiches, mimosas, eggnog (with or without rum) and hot chocolate for kids and adults--on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of Christmas week.
