Monday Essentials: Healthy School Lunches, Field Hockey for the Cure
Here's a quick look at what you need to know for the week ahead in Acton.

1. Free Lecture: Healthy Eating for Back-to-School: Acton Pharmacy this week is hosting two free public lectures on healthy eating for back-to-school featuring Diana Pruzinsky, a certified health coach who specializes in
nutrition and wellness, who will discuss how to prepare healthy meals that
fit into a busy schedule. The lectures will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 23 and 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25. Get the details here.
2. Public Meetings Preview: According to the town website, here's the week's lineup of public meetings:
- Monday, Sept. 23: the Board of Selectmen and Sewer Commissioners' Meeting, at 7 p.m. at Acton Town Hall and a Volunteer Coordinating Committee at 7 p.m. at Town Hall
- Tuesday, Sept. 24: the Acton Housing Authority at 4 p.m. at the Acton Housing Authority and the Finance Committee at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall
- Wednesday, Sept. 25: the Joint Meeting of the Acton Public and Acton-Boxborough Regional School Committees' Negotiations Subcommittee at 7:30 p.m. at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School
- Thursday, Sept. 26: the Health Insurance Trust at RJ Grey Junior High School
4. Play 4 the Cure: A-B field hockey's Play 4 the Cure to help fight breast cancer kicks off this Thursday afternoon, when the eighth- and seventh-grade squads take on Lexington's Diamond Middle School at Gates Elementary School. Click here for more info or to donate online.
5. Patterns in Nature: At 2 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 27, the Discovery Museums invite folk to "Bessie's Tent" to explore the museums’ grounds, paying special
