Weekend Agenda: A Bike-a-Thon, Ag Events and CAI's Art and Sound Festival

A few events to keep in mind as you fill in your weekend planner.

The weekend has arrived, but you’ve got no idea what you’re going to do? Patch is coming to the rescue with your best bets for the done-work-outta-here time.

Check out our picks for activities you won’t want to miss this weekend: 

1. "Hope in Motion"- Bike-a-Thon and Family Fun Day
Where/When: Alcott School, 93 Laurel St., Concord; 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 7 
Why Go: Because this bike-a-thon benefits the Domestic Violence Services Network. There will be 3 rides: a 5-mile family ride, a 22-mile ride, and a 43-mile ride, along with a BBQ lunch, ice cream, a live band, bike safety rodeo, face painting, radar toss and much more.
Pricing: Registration is $45 for individuals 13 years and older and $25 for

2. Ag Day Farmers Market
Where/When: The Milldam, Concord Center; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7
Why Go: Farmers, gardeners and artisans will gather in Concord Center for the town's annual farmers market, which this year is part of a weekend long celebration of local agriculture
Pricing: Free to go, but there’s always plenty to buy.

3. MUSKETAQUID Kids' Film Fest for Children
Where/When: Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts, 40 Stow St., Concord; 2 to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7 
Why Go: The Farm and Garden Harvest Fair and Musketaquid Arts & Environment present a children's film festival featuring four films selected to inspire curiosity about how we grow the food we eat. Get the details here

4. 1st Biennial Festival of Performance Art and Sound Art
Where/When: The Quarry, CAI’s art complex located at 68 Quarry Road, Acton; 1 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8
Why Go: Because it's Contemporary Arts International's first Biennial Festival of Performance Art and Sound Art, featuring 23 of the region’s leading performance artists and sound artists. Get the details here. 
Pricing: $20 per day, $30 for both
