Weekend Agenda: Holiday Merriment, Movies and a Meet the Dogs Event

1. Polar Express Themed Movie Night
Where/When: Parker Damon Building, 11 Charter Rd, Acton; 6:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6
Why Go: 
AB High School club Asha is hosting a Polar Express-themed movie night featuring hot cocoa, raffles and a showing of the enchanting holiday film. 
Pricing: $7, with all proceeds going to supporting education in impoverished areas around the world

2. Steel Magnolias
Where/When: Theatre with a Twist, 278 Great Road Acton; 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8
Why Go: 
Because it's Theatre with a Twist's Inspiring Actors production of Steel Magnolias.
Pricing: Adults $13, $11 for children and seniors

3. Santa and Carolers at The Happy Chocolatier and Acton Woods
Where/When: 340 Great Road, Acton; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m, Saturday, Dec. 7
Why Go: 
It'll be a Day of Merriment with Santa at the Acton Woods Plaza, featuring carols sung by the Acton-Boxborough Regional High School Madrigal Singers and singers from the Music Maker School, as well as a visit from Santa Claus at The Happy Chocolatier.
Pricing: Free, with donations accepted for Beacon Santa 

4. Steve Songs Children's Concert
Where/When: Parker Damon Building 11 Charter Road, Acton; 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7
Why Go: 
The Acton Barn Cooperative Nursery School welcomes back Steve Songs who will be joined by David Stackhouse on vocal base and drums. Get the details here
Pricing: $13 in advance, $15 at the door 

5. North East All Retriever Rescue Meet The Dogs Event
Where/When: Especially For Pets, 444 Great Road, Acton; 12 to 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7
Why Go:
Representatives from the North East All Retriever Rescue, a non-profit all-volunteer group dedicated to rescuing and re-homing retrievers, will host a "Meet the Dogs" event at Especially For Pets in Acton. Get the details here
