3. Ebenezer Scrooge: A Christmas Carol

Why Go: Well, because it's New Life Fine Arts Musical Theater's original musical adaptation"Ebenezer Scrooge: A Christmas Carol." That's why.

4. Winter Celebration Laser Show
Where/When: Parish Center for the Arts, 10 Lincoln St, Westford; 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14
Why Go: Prismatic Magic is bringing their popular holiday show back to Westford and inviting area families to herald in the season of peace and joy with a bright, colorful laser festival set to non-denominational holiday songs and current pop tunes.

5. Holiday Theme Story Slam
Where/When: South Acton Congregational Church, 35 School St., Acton; 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14
Why Go: South Acton Congregational Church's Second Saturdays on School Street event for December is a Story Slam with a holiday theme. They'll choose about a dozen storytellers to spin short holiday yarns.
