Whether you are 8 or 80, CATZ will cater to your athletic needs.
CATZ (Competitive Athletic Training Zone), located in the Teamworks Acton building on Great Road, is dedicated to the athletic development, and general fitness, of youth through adults. They design strength and conditioning programs for specific sports (football, baseball,) as well as general conditioning, not necessarily unique to a sport, but complement most. Eight- to 11-year-olds are invited for basic athletic movement patterns (lateral, backwards, skipping, etc.), focusing on basic coordination to put them into a game-like setting. As kids begin to mature physically and mentally, the focus becomes more specific as more complex skills are introduced. The Bromfield Acton-Boxborough rowing teams competed in their inaugural spring regatta recently against Wayland Weston and Greater Lawrence crews on Lake Cochituate in Wayland, the Harvard Press reports. The girls varsity crew of cox Emily Erdos, Caroline Hart, Sylvia Sarnik, Molly Hart, Olivia Maclean, Tola Myczkowska, Kirsten Thiim, Elizabeth Wilkey, and Julia LeBlanc won their race on the 2,000-meter course. Bromfield Acton-Boxborough girls fours won by open water.
