Coming soon: Color*Full (Creative Exploration for Kids).
The once vacant lot at 586 Mass Ave in West Acton will soon be filled with colorful and creative kids. The business, Color*Full (Creative Exploration for Kids), will be an art studio offered for kids and parents to find their artistic inspiration. They will offer drop-in classes for young kids and art classes for all ages. It will also be a place for kids to have their birthday parties. According to their website, "Color*Full is the creative vision of Stacey Low, who was inspired to create this space when she was unable to find anything like it for her to enjoy with her own young children. A man who's own dog was bullied and injured to the point of surgery by other dogs at dog daycare, sold his software company to build his own dog daycare and is making Acton their flagship facility.
Kent Leung, of Lynn, is looking to expand his dog daycare in Cambridge, Boston Dog Company, to 77 Powder Mill Road, unit five, Acton. Last night, the Board of Selectmen approved a use special permit application for the dog daycare. Leung, who started Boston Dog Company in November 2011, said he quickly realized the majority of his clients were from the Middlesex suburbs and wanted to expand out north west of Boston. "I built that location [Cambridge] for the local community but we noticed that about 90 percent of our clients were from the Acton area," said Leung. Leung has an interesting story. One greasy chain moves out and another moves in.
According to Acton's Building Commissioner, Frank Ramsbottom, word is Johnny Rockets will be filling the vacant spot where Friendly's used to be on 387 Massachusetts Avenue, Acton. The company that owns the building, Edens, confirmed Johnny Rockets is officially coming to Acton, but there is no official word as to when it will be open. Ramsbottom said a permit was recently filed to work on the construction on the exterior of the building and a permit to remodel the interior is soon to come. BOSTON – The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) has assessed a $4,000 penalty to MIG Corporation of Acton for a release of diesel fuel to a branch of Walker Brook that occurred as a result of bridge repair activities in Becket. The discharge of diesel fuel to surface water is a violation of the Massachusetts Clean Water Act. On April 5, 2012, MassDEP Emergency Response staff received a call from a concerned citizen regarding the presence of an oily sheen on a branch of Walker Brook where it crosses Route 20, near the junction with Route 8 and Bonny Rigg Hill Road in Becket. MassDEP personnel responded to the site immediately to investigate, and confirmed the presence of a petroleum sheen in the brook with …

I worked for Friendly's at this same location. In Acton it was not easy! A lot of entitled children acting how ever they wanted with parents approval. I wish them luck. Is it something I would consider again absolutely! But I am not 100% sure the body could still handle the fast pace.   more ›
