Always Double Check Before You Leave a Taxi: 6/21 - 1:55 a.m. - Parker Street: A male party called the police to report that he had left his laptop in the taxi he took from the airport. He did not have the name of the company or the name of the driver but he did retrieve the plate number. UPDATE - Organized Crime Hits Acton

Thieves take $600 from Daniela’s, a safe from Bickford’s and scramble around in Surfside Pools.

Early Sunday morning, June 16, Surfside Pools, Daniela’s Cantina Restaurant and Bickford's Restaurant were robbed. All three businesses are located in the same strip mall and were broken into during the early hours of Father's Day. Daniela's: According to Geraldo Miranda, president of Daniela’s Cantina Restaurant, the thieves robbed his business of close to $1,000. They went for the cash registers and managed to take $600, causing significant property damage to three registers, but no liquor was taken. Daniela’s does not have a security alarm. Surfside Pools: According to Surfside Pools employees Stephen Goodwin and William Sandore, nothing was taken. Organized Crime Hits Acton

On June 19, three local businesses were broken into and one on May 28.

According to the Acton Police Department, within the past several weeks four local businesses have been broken into. The break-ins are taking place during early morning hours and the thieves are gaining entry through the rooftop HVAC vent units or breaking windows. A list of businesses broken into:  May 28, 2011: Acton Liquors (100 Powder Mill Road) June 19, 2011: 1). Bickford's Restaurant (20 Nagog Park Drive) 2). Surfside Pools (511 Nagog Park Drive) 3).
