NOTE: The information below was retrieved from the Boxborough Police Department: BOXBOROUGH, MA – On Saturday, July 28, Detective Nathan Bowolick was on patrol on Massachusetts Ave. when he saw a car being driven by Andrew S. MOLANDER, 24, of 4213 High St. #3 in Palmer, MA. Bowolick knew that MOLANDER’S driver’s license was suspended. He stopped the car and placed MOLANDER under arrest. During a subsequent inventory of the car’s contents, Bowolick discovered several different types of illegal drugs, including a large quantity of what he suspected to be cocaine. He also found property that he believed had been stolen, including a Massachusetts National Guard ring. MOLANDER was charged with operating after suspension, trafficking in cocaine…

An 82 year-old Acton man was pronounced dead at UMass Medical Center after a head-on collision in Boxborough yesterday evening. The other person involved in the accident is in stable condition.
According to Boxborough Police Chief, Warren Ryder, around 4:42 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, Acton resident, Francis Widmayer, 82, was driving South on Liberty Square Road when he crossed over the double yellow lines and had a head-on collision with 72 year-old Boxborough resident, George Banfield. The Life Flight helicopter was unable to fly to the scene becaue of poor weather conditions. Widmayer was brought to UMass Medical Center in Worcester where he pronounced dead and Banfield was taken to Lahey Clinic in Burlington where he is currently in a stable state. Eduardo Alementa Torres was arrested in Boxborough Saturday and will be deported from America once his criminal charges are "fully adjudicated."
Eduardo Alementa Torres, 48 years-old, from Marlborough, MA, will once again be deported out of the United States of America, according to Chuck Jackson, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) spokesperson. Originally from Mexico, Torres was encountered by ICE and deported from the U.S. on Dec. 14, 2004. On March 24, 2005, U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection encountered Torres in Arizona and he was deported two days later; only to be encountered in California on March 13, 2006, and deported that day. Why do I need to understand bear behavior? What does bear behavior have to do with nuisance bear problems? Bears are adaptable, curious, capable of rapid learning, have excellent long-term memories and exhibit a wide degree of behavioral "plasticity" (i.e., ability to adapt their behavior to changing circumstances). These behavioral characteristics are integral to understanding and managing many problem bear situations. Vocalizations, gestures, and mock charges are typical expressions of frustration, conflict, and stress. Food-seeking bears are conflicted between the desire to approach and that to flee ("fight or flight"). Their drive to attain food is strong but frustrated by their close approach to people. The Boxborough Police Department purchases a Harley-Davidson with drug money.
Have you ever wondered where drug money goes that your local police department acquired? Recently, the Boxborough Police Department purchased a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle with funds raised through successful Boxborough Police Department drug dealing investigations. According the Boxborough Police Department, the motorcycle will mostly be used for community outreach and will be seen throughout the neighborhoods, athletic fields and businesses. “This new motorcycle will be an important component of the Boxborough Police Department’s ongoing mission to engage in positive relationships with members of our community,” said Chief Warren B. Ryder. “Officers on the motorcycle will be approachable when they stop in neighborhoods or at town events.”
