Acton-Boxborough Baseball Gets First Win of Season in 3-1 Victory Over Concord-Carlisle

Acton-Boxborough Regional High School’s baseball team played its first game in 10 days (due to rain) and the Colonials came out with a 3-1 win, their first of the season, at Concord-Carlisle High School (0-4). “In the last two games we had, we’ve had five errors in each game,” said A-B coach Patrick Grucela, “and today we had none, so we played a very clean game.” Acton-Boxborough’s, Brian Bowler, hit off an Alex Gutwillg pitch, nailing a two-run double deep into center field in the bottom of the second. Thulani Denaro scored from third and Devin Santilli from first base, putting A-B (1-2) ahead two to none. A-B Boys' Basketball Demolishes Concord-Carlisle by 29

Colonial Offense Ripped Through the Patriots.

The Acton-Boxborough High School boys’ basketball team handled Concord-Carlisle High School on the road Sunday, winning a convincing 66-37, bringing their record to 10-1. C-C stands at 8-6. “(Concord-Carlisle is) a very explosive team,” said A-B coach Rick Kilpatrick. “Their guards are very good and we knew that we couldn’t let Brima (Rogers) and (Edwin) Delva get going and I thought we did a good job the second half of containing them and then that allowed us to get our offense going.” For A-B, Wes Schroll made a game-high 19, Sam Longwell scored 12 and Kevin LaFrancis made eight. For Concord-Carlisle, Dana Hines had seven points, Brima Rogers made five and Henry Bumpus netted four. The Colonials were up 21-11 after the first quarter, and…
