High Wind Warning in Effect for Acton Beginning Tonight

Dense fog advisory also issued.

Motorists are being advised to take precaution today and tonight as the National Weather Service has issued two advisories. There is a dense fog advisory in effect until 5 p.m. today. The fog will result in poor visibility. A dense fog advisory is issued when fog will reduce visibility to 1/4 mile or less for at least three hours. This will result in hazardous driving conditions, and motorists are advised to drive slowly as objects on and near roadways will be seen only at close range. A high wind warning will be in effect from 10 p.m. tonight until 9 a.m. tomorrow. Winds are expected to be sustained from 20-30 mph from the southwest, with gusts between 50-60 mph. Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Area

Expect poor visibility until 7 a.m. Sunday.

The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for the area, effective until 7 a.m. Sunday. Along with poor visibility from the fog, there is also a chance of black ice forming on roads as temperatures dip to near freezing. Visibility is expected to be less than 1/4 mile, with some areas possibly having zero visibility. A dense fog advisory is issued when dense fog will result in hazardous driving conditions.
