Acton-Boxborough Girls Basketball Boston Garden Bound

The Colonials beat DCL rivals L-S 44-41 in overtime to advance to the finals of the Division 1 North Sectional Tournament.

A ten point second half streak with her team trailing proved just the opening act for junior Elizabeth Belanger in the semifinals on Tuesday. After forcing a late free throw attempt to push extra time, A-B's leading scorer produced three late foul shots to beat DCL (Large) rivals No. 8 Lincoln-Sudbury 44-41 at Westford Academy and to put the No. 5 Colonials in the finals of the Division 1 North Sectional girl's basketball tournament. “We worked hard as a team and our potential has finally shown,” said Belanger. “I can not remember any team from A-B that has gone to play in the Garden.
