AB isn't the PR machine a lot of lacrosse programs are, but performance on the field (10-3) is starting to attract some notice from the pundits. The DCL is reputed to be the toughest league in the state and AB has shined in recent weeks against stiff competition. As a result their players are starting to wider recognition. The team may poll as high as #2 this week behind the storied Duxbury Dragons after decisive wins over Westford, Weston & LS this week. AB's WA & LS wins have them locked in a three way tie for the DCL Large Lead, but AB is undefeated in DCL large competition now since game three of this season. The Acton-Boxborough boys' lacrosse team ended their season with a 15-6 loss to Billerica in the D1 sectional quarterfinals.
Billerica - The Acton-Boxborough boys' lacrosse team (15-6) ran into a powerful and talented Billerica Indians (20-2) squad on Wednesday, June 8, and fell 15-6 in the quarterfinals of the Division 1 sectionals. The Indians came out early and took a 3-1 lead after the first quarter. The Colonials kept the game close by exchanging goals at the start of the second quarter when junior midfielder, Kyle Soroka, scored on a nice individual dodge from behind the cage. It would be all Indians from that point on as they took an 8-2 lead into the half and a 12-2 lead after three quarters. All-American attack Grant Whiteway led the way for Billerica scoring four goals and dishing out four assists. A-B did not give up as they fought hard the entire …
