Acton Pilot Involved in Plane Crash Thursday
A pilot suffered minor injuries after her plane flipped over at Lawrence Airport.
A small airplane flipped over upon landing Thursday evening, and details are starting to emerge. Shortly before 7 p.m., North Andover police received a report a plane had crashed and overturned at the end of runway 32 at Lawrence Municipal Airport. A second plane, flown by an instructor, landed shortly afterward and assisted Police Sgt. Tim McEvoy in helping the injured pilot and shutting down the airport. The pilot has been identified as Rebecca Harvey, 49, of Acton. She suffered minor injuries and is said to have about 20 years of pilot experience.
