Foreclosures in Acton Continue to Drop

Middlesex County following trend.

A significant decline in Massachusetts foreclosures during the month of March indicates the foreclosure crisis is over, according to an article in Monday's issue of Banker & Tradesman. In Massachusetts, both the Town of Acton and Middlesex County are also seeing drops in activity. In Acton, foreclosure petitions dropped from 3 to 1 when comparing the March 2012 report to the March 2013 report. In year-to-date statistics, the number has droped from 8 to 3. When comparting the last two March reports in Middlesex County, the decrease is 79 percent while the year-to-date difference is 54 percent. Lenders filed 284 petitions to foreclose in March, an 82 percent decrease from 1,621 in March 2012, according to data from The Warren Group, …

Home Sales Rise in Acton, Middlesex County

Acton home sales are up 45 percent from last year.

Acton homes sales in February 2013 remained the same from the same month in 2012, but Middlesex County home sales overall rose ever so slightly for the month, according to a recent report by The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman. Middlesex County saw 487 home sales in February, which was an increase of just more than 1 percent from the 481 homes sold in February 2012. Acton specifically, however, saw six sold homes in February, matching six sold in February 2012. With January and February numbers in, Acton sales were up 45 percent year-to-date, from 11 homes sold in the first two months of 2012 to 16 homes in the same period in 2013.
