Welcome to our weekly Business of the Week feature, where we highlight a business in town. All businesses we highlight are listed in our business directory. This week's spotlight is on The Local Table. The Local Table serves breakfast and lunch on weekdays, dinner on Thursdays through Saturdays and brunch all day on Saturdays. The brunch menu features brioche French toast, special omelets, waffles, homemade corned beef hash and eggs, pressed sandwiches, burgers and more. The dinner menu features appetizers, salads, entrees, burgers and desserts. The Local Table also offers more than 20 craft beers, most of which are local to New England as well as a variety of wines available by the glass.  The restaurant hosts live music on Saturday …

Restaurant Owner Offers to Cook Christmas Dinner to Those in Need

Rose Saia will make a holiday meal for a select few from Acton and Sudbury at no charge.

Not everyone will be able to enjoy a Christmas dinner this year, but one Acton business owner will try to make it happen for at least a few families in Acton and Sudbury. Rose Saia, owner of The Local Table in West Acton, is offering meals to those in need ... specifically a Christmas dinner and cookies at no charge. "We’d prepare the meals and they could pick them up to re-heat at home, or, if it is someone who is unable to get to the restaurant, we could deliver it," she said. Saia was once a volunteer for Little Brothers and Friends of the Elderly. She would brink her kids to pick up a meal and visit with someone (a senior) for about an hour on Christmas day. In January 2011, Rose Saia became the new owner of Savoury Lane in Acton. She decided to make a few changes to the menu and the dining experience eleven months later, and with this came a name change: The Local Table. Formally known as Savory Lane, Owner, Rose Saia, wanted a new name for her new-style bistro.

Rose Saia recently purchased Savory Lane and conducted only minor changes to the business. As of Monday, Nov. 28, Savory Lane will be known as The Local Table. Watch the video-interview with Rose Saia, as she talks about why she changed the name and what else is changing.
