If you are looking for an education, just read the Wall Street Journal. You won't find one in the Globe or NYT. You will also notice that whenever a lefty is exposed to someone that they don't agree with, their first reaction is ad hominum insults...apparently they exist with the lofty mind set of the moral superiority that is engendered when the bottom line of their political philosophy is giving other peoples money away. ("We're generous and good, your are stingy and bad". Their thinking doesn't go much beyond that)
That's the best I can sum it up for your dear. Other that that, look elsewhere for an education. Blog sites in general, are people talking past other people.

First off, I think Donna has your number, but that aside... Sure, I read others posts, and I may or may not agree with them. I let those exchanges take place between you and them. I don't want to engage in 14 different conversations with you, ya know?( You're not doing so well with just the one I am having with you,) so I let others comments slide. Don't look to me to help you out with other folks you are pissing off.
Critical thinking means seeing your own flaws as well as others, and tempering your criticism with that knowledge in mind. Can you honestly tell me that if Murray was a repub and crashed a government car at over 100mph, in his pajamas, lied about it, and had the governor cover it up that you would be defending his actions as vociferously as you are now? I really really don't think you would, and if you were honest with yourself and others here, you would admit that Murry is a "shet bird" as my dad used to say, and not worthy of holding public office. But you don't have that insight, that level of honesty, or that intestinal fortitude to make such an admission. You defend a clown that is in office as if he had done nothing dishonorable. Frankly, he doesn't deserve one erg of the energy you are spending to defend him. Thus, you are reacting on an automatic reflex, making you look like a empty headed shill instead of the stalwart defender of the good that you see yourself as.
Also, I'm glad you got the the implication I was making about using a crayon.

Let me make my point simpler, perhaps write it in crayon in big capital letters.
Critical thinking means to look at a subject, any subject, and try to strip away the spin, lies, personal influence and contrived premises, and drill down to the truth. The truth being that which is true regardless of what you think or thought the truth might've been.
Your AUTOMATIC defense of all things Democratic, and your AUTOMATIC attack of anything else is clear to anyone who reads your posts. I don't know you. Never met you. But I've met hundreds like you. You only listen with the left ear and see with your left eye...therefore you're convinced your point of view is the nexus of truth. You can't see the big picture because the big picture includes truths that you don't ascribe to. That truth, if understood, would upset your world view and your contrived explanations of it. Your posts here paint a clear picture of this thinking, which I call "I'm the rubber and your the glue, your words bounce off of me and stick to you". If you were to back up intellectually about, say, 6 feet, you'd see this yourself. But I know you won't. ...You can't. Your world would crash in on itself.

It is a never ending source of amusement for me to listen to people wrap themselves in the clothing of one particular religion or another while at the same time acting UNLIKE that very religion. Me, being an agnostic middle of the road kind of guy, I don't have the credentials to determine if a person is "Christian" or not. But Tyler is one angry guy for a person who claims to have a relationship with God. I say if you make that claim, it ought to be with your behavior, as well as your words.
    You nailed it.

Seems like enough people are jumping your shut right now, so I will just let them at it. No need for me to pile on. Let me just leave you by recommending that you stop drinking the kool aid amigo. You are knee deep in it, and it is affecting your ability to see things clearly. You have a "I'm the rubber and you're the glue" philosophical approach to your thinking, and that NEVER serves a person well. Especially not you.
    Critical thinking Tyler....CRITICAL thinking...

Privatization wasn't a plan that was put forward. It was an option for future generations to consider but were allowed to not do. In other words it was a choice given. An option, not a requirement for those who wanted to control their investments. Keep in mind, it's THEIR money. So are you anti choice?
The 6000 doller voucher was the initial idea, but was changed to allow richer retirees to have to pay more, and the poorer ones to be subsidized. Kinda like what dems want to do with tax rates. And further tweaking and adjustments would be allowed in further negotiations. But obamacare is different in that it was voted on at midnight on Christmas without a single repub vote through "reconciliation" a process not meant for legislative loop holes. A total abrogation of legislative procedure. The point is that we are trying to make it solvent and you are ignoring it, and somehow...SOMEHOW, you seem to find us evil and your " team" lives with the angels.

You've made several comments about "socialistic Medicare and social security". Are you laboring under the impression that conservatives are against these programs? That we are somehow hypocritical in our criticism of Obama and Obamacare because we participate in Medicare and SS? Paul Ryan has put forth several budgets and legislation that will preserve these programs and to make sure they last long enough for future generations to participate in them. Dems current budget intransigence, however, literally guarantees that these programs will come crashing down from poor planing and budgeting, thus ending them.
Please explain to me in simple terms how one party who wants to preserve these programs is actually AGAINST them, and the party who doesn't seem to worry about these programs health in the future... is FOR them?

I think you'd be a more respected person if you at had at least an OUNCE of critical thinking about your party and the snafus that they make. See,...you AUTOMATICALLY jump to their defense, regardless of how culpable they are, how incompetent they are, how clueless they are.
Every once in awhile, at least roll your eyes at the incompetent antics of your party. Then, when you defend them, people will at least say that your words are fair and well thought out. You know...intelligent. What I read on these pages...you are a mere water carrying shill where everything your side does is great, and everything the other side is wrong.
