Color*Full Art Studio Celebrates First Anniversary

See why Stacey Low says her kid-centric art studio in West Acton is one moms will drive to.

In just over a year, Stacey Low has transformed a vacant storefront on Mass Ave into a creative space that draws children and parents to West Acton.

Color*Full is an art studio offering drop-in art making and drop-off classes for children, along with workshops and birthday parties. The business opened just over a year ago, inviting kids to draw and paint and collage and create.

“I felt like there was a need,” said Low, a mother of two and former art teacher. “I would take my kids to indoor playgrounds and think, ‘We could do this with art.’”

Since last September, Low says Color*Full has welcomed mothers and children from more than two-dozen communities, from Salem to Ashburnham to Lexington to Tyngsboro.

Why do they come from so many different cities and towns? Low says it’s because Color*Full offers kids a chance to be creative while someone else is responsible for scouring Pinterest for crafts – and cleaning it all up after the fact.

“They come because they can make a mess and not worry about it,” said Low. “And once they’re here, they like the space that we’ve created and the vibe.”
