Weekend Agenda: Cabaret, 'Container Man,' 'High School Musical' and a Pajama Party

A handful of events to consider before filling in your weekend planner.

Check out our picks for activities you won’t want to miss this weekend: 

1. Cabaret Night 2013!
Where/When: ABRHS Auditorium 36 Charter Road, Acton; 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23
Why Go: 
The Acton-Boxborough Regional High School Choruses is presenting their 19th annual Cabaret Night, featuring "vocal music of all styles, including Broadway, folk, contemporary, and a cappella, and plenty of comedy, dance numbers, and instrumental groups."

2. High School Musical Live Onstage
Where/When: R.J. Grey Junior High School, 16 Charter Rd., Acton; 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 22, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24
Why Go: 
Because it's the the Acton Cooperative Theater (A.C.T.) production of Disney’s High School Musical Jr.

3. Pajama Party Sale at The Happy Chocolatier & Acton Woods Plaza
Where/When: 340 Great Road, Acton; 6:30 to 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 23 
Why Go: 
The Happy Chocolatier and the shops in Acton Woods Plaza are hosting an early-morning special sales event in which folks clad in their PJs can take advantage of discounted rates. Get the details here

4. Saturday Night Music Series: The Night Owls
Where/When: The Local Table, 251 Arlington St, West Acton; 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 23
Why Go: 
Because the superbly talented Walter Rodriquez and the Night Owls are bringing their alternative folk style to The Local Table this Saturday night as part of the restaurant's fall music series. 
Pricing: No cover -- just the cost of food and drink 

5. Concert Debut: The Container Man All-Stars
Where/When: Contemporary Arts International, 68 Quarry Road, Acton; 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24 
Why Go: 
Several of the region’s most prominent  experimental musicians – part of a newly formed ensemble, CONTAINER MAN All Stars – will explore the sound potential of CONTAINER MAN (CM), a colossal kinetic sculpture that contains 14 amplified mechanical musical instruments installed on a 40-foot shipping container.
